A dog’s in lamb’s clothing , bedlington has an equally bengin disposition behind its mild expression and fuzzy coat , although it can prove destructive without sufficient exercise . first shown in 1870 , it is probably descended from functional , athletic terriers bred by gypsies around .
Rothbury in Northumberland , known as the rothbury terriers . these dogs were used to hunt hares and rebbits above ground rather than digging them out . they have one of the longest life expectancies of all dogs a median of 14 years
