Virtually unknown outside italy , this venerable breed was preserved in isolation on sicily for some 2000 years , it is also called the Sicilian Greyhound. But was only recognized as a breed in 1939 . like many ancient hounds , the cireneco dell’etna has a temperament that can prove difficult in an urban environment . it needs plenty of exercise , and is not an easy breed to train , but it is capable of great devotion one person
